Maggie Gyllenhaal: ‘Being nominated for Oscar boosted my self confidence’

AE: Was it easy to play a village woman from England?

Maggie G: I watched movies from earlier eras. And I had a great actor’s coach. I had to change my accent and I got it in short time. It was project that I enjoyed a lot. It was also a great priviledge to work with Emma Thompson. I feel lucky.

AE: How about the Oscars? What was your expectation? How did you feel?

Maggie G: First of all, it’s a great feeling to be nominated for Oscards. I’m proud of the Crazy Heart movie. Being nominated boosted my self confidence. I can be more selective from now on.
