Helen Mirren is not invited to the Royal Wedding

Helen Mirren, who played Queen Elizabeth II in the movie “The Queen” in 2007, and who received an Oscar award for the Best Female Performance, told Aysegul Ekinci that she was not invited to the Royal Wedding.

While the royal couple prefers to keep the wedding simple due to the financial crisis in the country, it was announced that there were 1900 guests invited to the wedding that will take place at the Westminster Church.

Although the guest list is not yet announced, according to the information leak, famous names of the British media are among the guests. David-Victoria Beckham, Guy Ritchie and Elton John are among the leaked names.

However, there is one name from the British cinema who played the role of the Queen Elizabeth II in both TV series and on the movies, who was personally congratulated by the Royal family for her performance, who was not invited to the wedding.

Helen Mirren emphasized that she was not hurt and said: ‘The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be a national feast. The whole world awaits this wedding. I would have liked to attend the wedding as well. However, I was not invited. I don’t know who was invited. Playing the part of Queen Elizabeth II does not require me being invited. But I don’t understand who is invited based on what criteria. I’m not hurt. I want them to be very happy. Perhaps they forgot to invite me.’
